Christian Game Development

Well I came across a very cool post on ZDNet:
http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1040_22-5804541.html

This new article talks about the rise in Christian Based Games. I really never thought it was as the level it was, but there will soon be a MMORPG based on the End Of Days stories / books.

Also of note, the n'lighting game development company, that has two titles out, both that have sold over 50,000 copies. Truly amazing to me, and something that I have always been intersted in... well it caught my attetion. I have the skills to develop games, but not the time. My full time job is Software Development, but Business Software / tools / and web sites.

For me though, it's nice to see this niche rise. I hope to see it grow and grow, as has the Christian based Musci industry.

Truly inspiring

Well I feel I have connected with the Creator, nature, my wife, and kids - in a new way. This connection was brought on by the Native American Flute - in Key of High D. This flute was bought because our 4 1/2 year old loved to hear the man who sold it play. She of course wanted to be able to make the music like he did, but her fingers are to small... and the hand coridation is just not there yet. She was a little disappointed, and I told her like anything it takes pratice.
Well My wife gave it a shot, and she was pretty good - which in turned inspired me to try it. At first I was off, but then I started running the scale. After that - I let it flow... and man oh man did it ever flow!

Now I am hooked - hooked on the relaxing / tranquile waves of pure harmony that comes from the Native American flute. And now I can't wait to be able to get more flutes, and speciallys to learn how to make my own!

I never had a lick of musical talent... until I meet up with the Native American flute, from High Spirits Flute Company. Very relaxing, and well worth the money. I can't wait to learn more and more! I just want to thank our Creator - YHWH, through is son Christ... thank you! Thank you for letting me connect in a whole new way. I truly believe in the power of these flutes, the power of meditiion and healing that comes from this form of relaxation.

Pressing Hard

Well, We have two weeks from this Friday at work to meet a big deadline. From now until then I will be working every day, including at least 8-12 hours on the weekend. Of course my wife is very supportive, and my children (being small) seem to undrstand the concept.
I have to say here, that they have not asked me to work like this, and after this project it will be back to a more normal work schedule. We are just in the last stage of what I call doing a heart transplant for a company. We are taking their old AS/400 system out, and we are implementing MS Axapta! Which btw, I love! The native language to Axapta is X++, which is pretty much just like C# / Java.
Anyway we have done a lot of work, but the thing is we still have a lot left. I am still positive that we will meet the deadline, and get this project done. What we really have to get done is take order in, generate a work order, make the product (mats), generate shipping information, ship the product, and then invoice the order.

That sounds like a lot, but believe it our not we are very close to being able to do that.
I guess if I can explain it in football terms, it might make more sense. It's the 4th Qaurter. We have the ball, 3rd and 10 on the 10 yard line. We are down by six points in the Super Bowl, so everything is on the line. We have two downs to get the ball in the end zone. Well, that's what it's like... and I hope that we don't go sar, and still be so far away - kinda of like the longest yard - the last and final yard before the touchdown.

All in all, trust in our Creator is the best. And praying for help to focus, and given thanks for each day, and not let the over shadowing deadline, take away from the joy of the day!

Blacksmith work...

Well, it seems as if my journey includes becoming a Blacksmith / Bladesmith. I usually save this kind of writing for my other blog: http://beawoodsman.blogspot.com

But I thought it would be nice to post here about it, because one it does deal with my journey through life, and two I believe that our creator will use this new hobby / interst / work in my life to teach me things, and also to help me help others!

I tell you I am hooked, and that's just from learning about the craft. You see right now I am in information gathering mode, but I am about to switch into tool / steel / parts gathering mode. I will always be learning about it, but I believe I have enough basic knowledge now to move forward with this craft and start to produce actualy pieces of work.

Of course I plan on starting out small, with a small shop, focusing on small functional items. The end result I would like to see is me become a Master Bladesmith, studying the arts and weapons of long ago and re-making them as they where made back then. So this craft will help me learn about metals, history, and I believe I will have a whole lot of fun doing it!

Well I will try not to post to much about it on biblerama, but I wanted to post this to document it, and also to say the our creator works in strange ways to us. I am so thankful to be able to want to learn something new, and it seems I will be giving the chance to try my hand at this craft. All things that are made possible only because our Creator has allowed me too! Again, I am very thankful.

It goes to show too, that if you want to try something new, just focus in on it ~ always pray ~ and then have a go at it!
